A woman had a similar problem and was given a url to copy and paste. I worked for me as well. This drive works fine on other computers,. i.e., library, work etc. so it is not defective. The url doesn't work any more because the site changed. please help.

It can depend on where you plug your drive in on a Dell. If you use the keyboard sockets you are sharing power with the keyboard. I have used 1Gb ok in keyboard but 2Gb draws too much power and fails. It needs to go directly into a port by itself where it is fine. If you have connected the monitor to a usb port then that has full power and is the same as plugging into the chassis socket but more convenient (maybe).
