Problem! As of tomorrow (28th Sept) Orange are cutting off my broadband Internet access (private reasons). I want, like, if it is at all possible, to replace Orange with another ISP as soon as possible. Demon will take 10 days, Zen 15 days, etc.

Question is, is there an ISP out there (a reliable one) that could offer next day or 48-hour access?

The question is usually not just with the ISP, but with BT and their switching facilities. BT usually takes 5 working days to switch your ADSL line over to another ISP.

I'm afraid the options are limited for you. Go for the best deal ISP you can find with the best reliability, and just wait for the service to come online. I'm only saying that for the benefits that you will get in the longer term - there's no point rushing to an ISP just because they can turn it around a day quicker if the service is going to be rubbish and/or more expensive.

In the meantime, there's always pay-as-you-go dial up and internet cafes.
