There is a theater company looking for overhire stagehands. Is this just general labor or something specific?

You are on Standby. Others will be hired before you.

General Labor? Count on it. Sweat, build, and expect the
Actors to sneer at you.

Until the Lights don't work and the Wagons don't move and the Drops don't drop.

" I AM AN ARTIST! I SIMPLY CANNOT WORK WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!!"

Advice: NEVER get back at an a**hole actor to the detriment of the Show.

We are all in this together. The Show is more important, Actors come and go. Shows come and go. Techs always work.

Overhire
Overhire positions vary—both in terms of required experience and length of commitment. The demand for overhire labor varies with each production. Most positions are paid on an hourly basis. Calls last from four to nine hours. Enthusiasm, intelligence, reliability, and punctuality are as important as experience.

Doesn't it mean that it's a union job but there's not enough union help available so they are allowed to hire non-union?
