I am looking for some advice on housing.

I am looking at getting 2 does, as all my rabbits are kept in pairs.

I will get the hutch made specailly for them. I know 6 x 2 x 2 ft if min size. What size do you think I should get it made??

Also what do you think about having 2 levels?? It would be alot wider than 2ft if I did get it with 2 levels.

Any advice would be greatful on Continental rabbits as this is what I will be getting.

smallest size for a single continental is as you say 6x2x2, for two, i wouldn't consider anything less than 10 long x4 deep x3 tall, i wouldnt go for two levels, just because the holes that are normally in the floors tend to be a bit small and the rabbits normally end up scraping their backs, the better option to go would be to have a run permenantly attached so they can get out or in as they wish.

good luck, continentals are lovely rabbits :)

I hope you know what your getting into,lol.
Make sure you get your Continental rabbits from a good breeder, they can have alot of health problems.

I used to raise Flemish Giant Rabbits.

My giants were never able to get to the 2nd level in their cage, they werent real active, and I dont think Continentals are much different.

The cage should be taller then the rabbit's ears when it stands on its hind legs.

Considering their weight they shouldn't be made to live in wire floor cages. Wire floor cages can cause bleeding sore hocks. Instead of wire you could use a wood floor covered with straw, old shredded paper, or wood chips (not recommended can be very uncomfortable). Be sure if u do use wood that u cover it with plexi glass or some type of flooring, the rabbit will most likely chew on the wood of the cage, and you will either have a damaged cage or an escaped rabbit.

My cages were 4 feet long, almost 3 feet high, and 4 feet deep, but that was for one rabbit.

Heres my smallest male(20 pounds):

Good luck :)

Housebreak them, either litter box or pet door, then you won't have to worry about a cage.
