I was researching genetics and read that if both parents have blue eyes, they can not have blue eyed children. This is true in my case because both of my parents have (and had) blue eyes and my eyes are green. Now, my husband has brown eyes and our daughter has the most gorgeous blue eyes I have ever seen.

Dolin...
Yes, both of my parents have blue eyes. I am not color blind. They are both my parents...I have green eyes. They turned green when I was about 4 or 5. They were blue before that. Both of my grandmothers had green eyes. You are wrong. Sorry.

I really can't remember the source. I was just researching one day to kill time, not even really looking for this. I had never heard of such a thing before, but it was true in my case, so I was just curious. Just because it is true for me, doesn't make it a fact. I just didn't think or know that it was possible...which led me to believe it was false info, but I was curious none the less...

thats is so simple
the colour of eyes depend upon two alles of father and mother each as in your case you got green eyes because blue is a ressive alle that of green and green will be your grand parents eyes or the other raletives.
in case of your daughter your green colour is appear one time so its the time of blue or brown eyes because they are both ressive

eye color is a very complicated trait and it's not dependent on one gene alone. anyone that pretends otherwise doesn't understand the genetics of eye color.
while it is true that blue eyed parents are more likely to have blues eyed children than brown eyed parents it's not guaranteed.
but blue-eyed parents definitely can have blue or brown eyed children. also, brown eyed parents can have blue or brown eyed children.
one other thing to remember, if eye color was a simple one gene trait, we would have very brown, very blue or very green eyes. the truth is, we have all shades in between as well, which means in some cases it may be more difficult to tell if a person has blue v green eyes or green v brown eyes.

No that's not true.
Children with parents of blue eyes will be more likely to have blue eyes.
You might have been thinking of the fact that a child with blue eyes whose parents both have brown eyes - thats possible - both parent could have carried a recessive allele for blue eyes.

I hope this doesn't open up a can of worms in the old family tree, but blue eyes are a recessive gene.
As such, if both mother and father have blue eyes, than the children of those parents will definitely have blue eyes.

Blue is a reccessive gene, so both parents must carry the blue gene. In your case you should have blue eyes.
Your husband must also carry a blue gene for your daughter to have blue eyes. Otherwise her eyes would be brown, as brown is dominent.
My husband & I have brown eyes & brown hair, my son has blue eyes. We have a 1 in 4 chance of a blue eyed child, as both my mother and my mother-in-law have blue eyes. Therefore my husband & myself carry a blue gene. very confusing.

Genetically, what you said is false. Since blue eyes is a recessive trait/gene, filling in a punnet square shows this.

If both parents have blue eyes, they will usually have blue-eyed children. However, occassionally they can have a brown eyed child.

Like the person above me, I hate to burst your bubble, and cause a problem. But, 2 blue eyed people can only make blue eyed children. So... if you have green eyes and you say both your parents have blue, either you are mistaken about one of their eye colors, or one of them isn't your parent. Sorry.
