Ohh love it!! Can you get hold of some straw maybe and spread it round them. Horticultural fleeces are good but expensive!

Ooh I don't think there is anything you can do except pray that it doesn't freeze. I live in the north of England too and its pretty cold right now. If it freezes and the plants die the potatoes may still be ok (albeit a little small). Why don't you have another go next year?

Ooh i love rooster potatoes, never thought to do that, You can buy fleece jackets from garden centres or here http://www.haxnicks.co.uk/direct/products.asp?CategoryID=2&Source=Google&gclid=CLndoKvh444CFQ7klAode0vOQw
But i bet 4 canes in the ground around the plant and covered with a clear plastic bag, pinned down, will work just as well.

I'd try some straw, or even blankets!, if not you can give them a cup of tea or hot cocoa, and then theyre warm up. :)

An old sheet spread over them should help. That's what I use over some of my flowers.
