I stink at negotiating. That's why I don't do it. I get a sense for the deal, and I either take it or leave it. Sometimes that looks like I'm negotiating, but I'm really firm. If I want it, I'll go for it. If I don't I wait. I don't dicker and bargain, not professionally and not in a relationship.

I guess that's why I like being in the military. I like things black and white, cut and dried, at least in regards to day to day decisions. :)

I often go with the new salesmen to help them close a big deal for the company, I allow them to handle the entire sale, on their own, but if rough places appear between the saleman and the buyer, then I will step in if the sales rep is caught off balance by the buyers questions.

I actually have more leeway in making a sale than the sales rep as I own the company, so any deals that I personally cut with the buyer, do not need to be approved by higher ups., where as all the deals that my sales reps are closing, are usually preapproved by either myself or the SVP, before the sales rep goes out to his appointment.

But I usually try to let the rep close the deal all by himself, as it helps to build up his confidence in his selling abilities and in himself, and only intervene when its necessary to do so.

Sometimes I get so emotional.... I am the worst negotiator ever!

When I do not care much, I am the best! And stubborn too!

never was good at negotiating. but i was taught that an argument will do the trick. what's beautiful about an argument, is that when you argue correctly, you're never wrong. there's no space for any negotiatin. =)

Pretty much, most of the time. I can help sort out problems and very often between my friends, I've had to stand in between them, yelling "STOP SHOUTING AND LISTEN TO ME PLEASE!"

And then sort the problem out. Lmao, I need a net and a badge! xxx

many's the times I've been able to see both sides in a dispute or disagreement and remained neutral in the fray.
