I have just been reading the responses to a question that was raised on this site with regards to the McCann's having used some of the fund money for 'living expenses' and i am in total disbelief at some of the comments...especially the one's that refer to Gerry McCann being the main bread winner in the family and that because he is NOT working....how are they supposed to live ?
WELL WELL WELL..MY HEART BLEEDS FOR THEM..MY HUSBAND HAS RAPID BIPOLAR DISORDER AND CANNOT WORK AGAIN FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE..HE'S 47..I AM HIS FULL TIME CARER AND I HAVE 2 CHILDREN...HE WORKED ALL HIS LIFE FROM BEING 16 UP TO 2 YEARS AGO....BUT I MANAGE... AND BEFORE ALL YOU DO GOODERS GET ON YOUR STROPPY HIGH HORSES...NO IM NOT ON EVERY BENEFIT YOU CAN THINK OF..SO DON'T EVEN GO THERE !
THE MCCANN'S ARE INITIALLY TO BLAME FOR WHAT HAS NOW BECOME EVERYONE'S PROBLEM.. SO DON'TACCUSE PEOPLE OF LYING...MORE IMPORTANTLY LETS NOT BOTHER WITH THE GERRY MCCANN SOB STORY..CAUSE WE,VE ALL GOT ONE OF THOSE! comment?

Firstly im not ranting..so do not accuse me of that !!
You don't know me..so don't make accusations !!
Secondly...the connection im making is very clear...if this was anyone else who were not professional people..they would have to manage somehow !
The example i was giving is exactly that..if this were me and my husband we would have to still manage..end of story !! Why was that so difficult to understand ????

I was NOT looking for sympathy because of my own circumstances..i was simply making a comparison !
Oh and i strongly suggest once again that you switch on the tv and read for yourselves who it is that has made the comments as to where the money is going.....IT WAS CLARENCE MITCHELL and they were his words...with regards to the living expences....so not a warped and twisted accusation...but a simple fact !

You know what?
Even if you ARE ranting, why the hell shouldn't you be allowed to? You have been cut a shitty deal and neither the system nor those organisations who are supposed to help will lift a finger to help you, even though you have done nothing to deserve your circumstances :-(
My Husband also suffers from mental health problems that prevent him from working (chronic depression, PTSD thanks to an abusive childhood and agoraphobia) - we have never claimed benefits as I work full time to support the family. Five years ago I was diagnosed with cancer and needed time off work for major surgery and treatment ... I don't get paid for sick time.
We managed, just as you do, and thousands of people like us do - The McCanns on the other hand have spent £232,000 of other people's money in 5 months on 'living expenses, and people think that this is reasonable?
Yes I know that people donated the money voluntarily - but how many of those donors live from payday to payday and made sacrifices to give money to find Madeleine - this is disrespectful to the donors' IMO

Nobody has any idea what the 300,000 allegedly spent so far has gone on. Apparently the public will get a full break down of expenses at the end of the financial year!
However the founding article of the (not for profit) company set up means theoretically the Board of Directors can vote to spend the money on anything. Indeed, the board of directors have claimed legal fees already and this was for setting up the fund/limited company in the first place. Consequently, the precedent for using the fund for legal fees already exists. I think your situation is devasting and can offer no comfort other than a high five for facing your issues, honestly and with hard work.
If you have any other questions about how the money can be spent see FAQ on the official Madeline website - Board of Directors. (PS the formation ground rules also state they can use it for living expenses) Very McCanny!

I feel for you & wish i could help...but i truly don't see the connection...
The McCanns too are not living off other people's hard earned money (the Fund to find Madeleine). I do want to read that link that claims they are, but i can't...no access.
i strongly suspect that someone has twisted & warped a statement to claim that they do use the fund. They have repeatedly stated that they don't.

i understand your point entirely. unfortunately as your not the Hot Topic and in the public eye you will be swept under the carpet as insignificant and that is deplorable.
