Pakistani team beams about their religion whenever they talk to press. This forum saw questions being popped up whether dragging religion is right or wrong ? (Though myself & many of sports loving friends in this forum don’t agree dragging religion in sports)

Shoaib during his runner up speech made a statement which I feel is totally uncalled for. “All is happening is on God’s will and thanks to almighty allah” , I don’t have anything against this statement, he followed up with another saying “I am sorry to all the muslims in the world”.

What message he is trying to convey? This world cup is a battle for religious supremacy? Why he has forgotten that this is only a sports field? It’s really a shameful statement. Let’s enjoy sports in a sportive manner, you win some and lose some.

Re : Crazy Delirious

Religion is daily part of your life. I don’t have any right to question or criticize that and I don’t intend to do that. My question is why to make religious statement in a sports field?

Don’t try to defend his statement, people will only laugh if you say he meant only Pakistanis and not muslims all over. I am from India and for your kind information we have more muslim populace than yours. The man of the final is a Muslim from India.

Don't give a religious dosage to a sport?

Re : Rahima

I am not for any religious debate or who supports whom?

If your religion is part & parcel of your life, its fine, no issues My question is why you drag religion to sports?

If you insist on doing that, then I have only one question?
Why don’t you play a game found by your religion and why play somebody else’s game?

I don’t have any disregard for your faith. I have highest regards for all the religions.

Let sports be sports

Re:Arsh&Roshni
We are not here to solve any controversy or problem, but sharing only our views. My simple question is why religion being dragged in sports? I don’t have any hidden agenda. I never questioned Pakistanis or muslims saying Inshaallah every now & then, Roshni read my sentence properly. My intention is not to hurt any religious feeling or against any faith, but totally against religion in sports. Remember there are countries gone to war because of football matches (Honduras – El Salvador 1969. The fragile relationship between those countries got aggravated and triggered to a war, after the world cup qualifiers). Why to make unnecessary statements and kick up fresh issues. If it is an slip of the tongue, it is fine. He could have apologized later and put an end to it. But will you accept anybody makes some statement against your faith and says slip of the tongue? Players representing countries needs to be careful, before making a statement in today’s polarized world.

I can understand that Shoaib Malik does not own good English. Hence no one can say what he wanted to say. The only thing one can understand is that he wanted to thank Allah and dragged all muslims in his statement. It is another thing how the people are reacting to it. It is not a big deal. Only when he understands the meaning of his saying and issues a proper statement one should comment on this.

The statement of Shoaib Malik that "I am sorry for all the Muslims in the world" was totally absurd and uncalled for.. since people of other religions also live in Pakiostan, his sorry should have been directed to people of pakistan and not all Muslims in the world.

I think this is the thinking of pakistan. They are not the contractor of muslims in whole word. If shoaib is including all hte muslims then what about irfan pathan, younus pathan, and the cricket team of Bangladesh. Religion and sports are different I m also a muslim but first i m an indian i m very angry about the view of shoaib. He has no right to say this

And i don't know why people feel it some planned "agenda" to disturb the non-muslims around the world or hurt others ! Man simpl thing is that it was a slip of tongue...Pakistni players often get confused when facing the camera or being interviewed and they do make such mistakes...!i don't know why people can't forgive him for this small thing.....We muslims do take "Allah's" name in our daily talks..just like christains call 'Jesus Christ ' , Hindus " baghwan or so......but we muslims use it more frequently ...and its realy difficult to stop saying it in normal speech "Just Becuase The Sports don't support religion and religion should be kept out of the sports".........but tell me, Does It harm someone if they say, Allah helped us or so?? Man whats the problem with this....I know others don't do this and even Pakistanis were not doing usualy untilll Inzi started this and now Pakistanis follow it......but Whats wrong with it? i could not get..why these sentences are getting on people nerves.Well if you don't like it, Just ignore it, if you are more disguted, switch off the Tv.....simple !

As for that statment is concerned, so even he knows that all muslims do not play cricket and those who play it do not support Pakistan...every person with even a zero IQ understand it..but if he has said so, he doesn't mean it actualy...though it look odd...but it is not a big crime that should be dragged daily here in the forum ! He didn't say it intentionally ! but even if he said so, why is it made such an issue.it look rediculous to me ! and his statement nowhere shows that he meant to prove the religious supermacy ! Man ! he "just" thanked muslims !Even Bush , the president of the world superpower can not hold his tongue and makes blunders in speech ........what with poor shoaib??in live speech people do say something, which they don't mean often !

And still if people think that this is some "BIG" crime and creating the disturbance all over the world, a danger to world peace and bla bla,,,,,,,,,,Tell ICC to ban Pakistan for Shoiab's statement....I guess this would satisfy a hell loads of public and would punish him truely.......! Right ??

I might sound rude here....But No hard feelings !

Good Morning & Good Friday To Rehman Bha & Every 1. Please Forgive me If I right OR Wrong In Language Or In My Opinion. We All Knew About, What Is Going On Between Two Country(India & Pakistan) And I Think That is Main Issue For Sania & Shoaib. Well, Forget About Two Country !! Just Look At IN Both Country, In India,How Hindu & Muslim Act Each Others & Same Time Look At In Pakistan How Muslim & Hindu Act Each Others,Does It Make Any Sense?? I m Not Only Talking To REHMAN BHA, BUT I Like To Tell Every One In This Section, Please Look At Your Self, And I Guarantee, THAT You All Find It a few Crazy In Your Country In Every Town Or City Marriage Over Sania &Shoaib( BOTH ARE BIG CELEBRATED IN SPORT) I m Trying To Give Two Example Here, Once MUSHARRAF Saab,Get Out Of His Army Chef & Going In Under Ground Also Benaziir Bhutoo Killed !!! Don't You Know How Was Action & Reaction Was Both Side Of Country? Forget About Both Side of Country !! (How & What Was Action & Reaction In All Over In World)? NEGATIVE &POSITIVE? I Think Same As SANIA & SHOAIB CASE !! NATIONAL AWARDS !! I Don't Know What is Problem About, BUT I Think She Earn Awords As a Indian Nationality, If She Get Marred With Out Of Nation (Country) Might She Have To Drop It, Those Awards,(This is My Guess).

I think by this statement he meant all the Pakistanis living across the world because in Pakistan, Islam is the main religion. Religion is a part of yourselves. You cannot deny the fact that you can live as a Christian or a Muslim and live as a sports player who does not believe in God. So religion is a part of our everyday life.

that was a big mistake...n not only you even i ws hurt for a second..coz i m nt muslim..i m frm india bt i alvs wanted pakistan to win..
bt those who know him v.well understand that he didnt mean to say that all muslims favour pakistan
he know ths is nt true..
he knew pathan had got hm out..n pathan brothers were nt sorry that pakistan lose the match
n such an innocent person cant even think like this.
coz if he had thought abt it he wud had never said this..
he had nt prepared a speech 4 this..
bt may be bcoz you r nt the only one who is talking abt this VHP also criticized hm...

Look alot of muslims did support Pakistan because they are a Muslim team. We have a huge Indian Population here in South Africa, but all our Muslim Indians supported Pakistan. Including myself. He knew that so I guess that's why he said that. I think it's time that Indian supporters 'GET OVER' it.
