if theperson is diagnosed with pancreatitis, then there is already pancreatic damage. this is most commonly caused from alcoholism. there is not much that can be done for a flair up. have them talk to the physician that is dealing with the pancreatitis about a proper diet plan. rushing them to the emergency room is not always the answer. not much can be done in way of pain management.

and as for the icu comment from the other person, try and become more educated before making statements on health issues.

go to the doctor. it's gonna take antibiotics and maybe some pancreatic type enzymes to get back to normal. stop eating. it only makes it worse. try a clear liquid diet until you can get in to see the doctor. go soon cuz you will end up in the ICU soon with pancreas damage if you don't.

You should call the person's physician and/or take the person to an emergency room so the symptoms can be managed.
