Hi Theo, I have heard it said that she was Hyperactive, but nothing catagoric. Kate McCann only worked 1.5 days per week so it should not have have proved too much for her if she had a nanny too. The nanny is a bit of a mystery though as she disappeared before the Portuguese holiday. I don't know if anyone has said how long she was in their employ, if she was live in, or what her duties were. Some have questioned if she was even real - I surely don't know. The nanny did NOT go on the holiday with the McCanns. It has been said that she returned to Canada ill - or sick of something.

Many parents have hyperactive children. They cope with great difficulties but they cope anyway. No other option you see! They get support from their team, social worker, mental health nurse and doctors. Well that's how it works out in Fife anyway! Surely the same happens in the rest of the UK.
We don't know for a fact that little Madeleine was hyperactive and you make a valid point about a nanny trained to dealing with hyperactive children. But nannies need breaks from time to time as well.
I don't know if she was with the parents or not. Best enjoy her annual hols when parents were taking their hols as well. She wouldn't have been needed since they were not working.
Having said that, did a nanny walk out on the children she was supposed to look after ... She'd have been sacked and never worked as a nanny ever again.

maddie was a liverly child as many are at that age also it would have been hard work with 3 young children, but as far as i know she only worked part time and they had a nanny but the nanny wasnt able to go on holiday with them as she had to return home due to somekind of family problem.

No one has said she was hyperactive. Her mum said she was an energetic and lively child in an interview. This was turned by the portugese press into "madeline was a hyperactive child".
Anyway how many kids do you know that sit like dolls all day long?
I really dont thik that this is relevant to the case at all, but good question.

Does it really make any difference if she was or not? I'm sorry but these people were on holiday, not working, had all the time in the world to spend with their family and there is NO EXCUSE for leaving their children alone and unsupervised.

How does it matter???
I know plenty of folks with high profile jobs who have hyper active children. They find ways to cope...with lots of love & attention...
Whether Madeleine was hyperactive or not has no bearing on his case whatsoever...but if she was...here coping the abducter can't cope & returns her on the double...
As Kate once said, Madeleine means "Tower of Strength"...
You know that Madeleine's Nanny was not with with on holiday in Portugal...
Edit: Well said Lisa!

plenty of people have hyper active children and they cope fine with no help
are you suggesting that those with hyper children cannot cope unless some help in the form of a nanny is brought in?
Its clear your not a parent as you know nothing about children

How would we know? If you are insinuating that she was a difficult child, her mother couldnt cope, and so killed her dont bother, the portugese police already tried that .
