Computer wont recognize my Ipod Classic?

I just bought the new Ipod Classic. It worked fine for about a week. Then just few day ago i'd try to plug into my computer it won't even recognize it. Itunes nor the computer wouldn't recognize it at all. It worked perfectly on the same computer a few days ago now whenever i plug it in the computer it just lights up for a few seconds only to go into sleep mode, and not the "connected" symbol.

I used three different ipod connectors. I used different USB ports. Tried it on another Ipod-classic compatible computer. Whenever i connect my ipod to the outlet it charges like normal.

Here are some tips from other ipod users:

l) First fully charge the iPod. Since the iPod was connecting before then use system restore and go back to a time when it was working - 2 or more weeks.

2)When you origanlly installed the itunes software , was the ipod plugged in the entire time , if so reintall the software you got with the ipod and only plugg it in when it tells you to , that was my problem worth a try i guess, at least if thats it you wont own a 300.00 paper weight

3)If you're using Windows, go to Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management

Click on Storage/Disk Management

Check to see if you see your ipod, or a USB device with the same size as your ipod on the lower right pane. If you do, right click on it and select "Change Drive Letters and paths". The reason why your system may not recognize it is because it may be trying to assign a drive letter to it that you already have assigned to something else.

Forcing a different drive letter will allow your system to see the iPod.

4)Go to bestbuy and pick up some new USB ports make sure they are highspeed 2.0.

I tried for weeks to fix my pod.

then when i changed the ports, It all worked.

it cost 40$ for 4 ports.
