It depends on what you want to use it for. To be honest, now that macs are using intel chips (personally I think this, though I can see why, was a bad move as the G series chips were better than the their intel counterparts), the comparative bonuses are few but macs do tend to use top end components to start with.
(for those that say you can't upgrade a mac, thats not strictly true. Admitted, the laptops and imacs are not so upgradable but they were designed for a specific market and suit it very well. Mac towers on the other hand are as upgradable as a PC. There are a whole range of graphics cards/sound cards etc etc.)
In the end it boils down to which OS you are more comfortable with. OSX is very nicely structured and flows really well but if you're more used to windows then you'll need to get used to it first and the same works the other way round. If you're a gamer then a windows machine is the obvious choice (though macs are catching up on that front). If you're a designer then a mac is the obvious choice.

I reckon a MAC - It might be bit expensive than a pc but check it out, it is worth it!

Mac os is simple, far less viruses, spyware, hackers, etc than a pc. The software are very user friendly and gives a professional finish! The best bit is that they come with the os itself! So no more of looking to buy extra software to do this bit and another one to that bit.....!

If you buy the new mac which has a core2 duo processor, you can do pretty much everything that a pc can do, even running windows as well as mac os!!!

So briefly, A mac is cooler, you have everything integrated in the monitor thus no more big casing hanging around! A very slim sexy keyboard along with a clever white mouse!

Windows new operating system, vista, isnt one i recommend for the moment as it is loaded with bugs yet to be fixed!

i would so go for mac there so much better! although at first they seem more expensive but they actually work out cheaper, macs come with Microsoft office and loads of other applications with out having to download anything. There ready to go straight out of the box, no messing about. With p.C's you have to buy loads of applications which are really expensive. Macs are prettier and are brill for everything! get a mac.
P.s macs are turning into the superior computer every on is switching to them, as p.C's are falling behind, i wouldn't spend a lot of money on a laptop with will start falling behind straight away and a computer which every ones trading in for mac's.
Personally go for a mac, you'll never turn back!

macs easy to operate and safer to use as very few mac viruses compare to pc virus and you can upgrade ur mac usually ram only on an i mac but if you get a mac pro you can upgrade to no end - and if you do use windows programs get bootcamp and install xp - that way your not restricting your self to one OS

PC!!!!!!!!!!!!
Firstly, you cant upgraded a mac (hardware)...
So if you need a more powerful computer or a new card, you can upgrade it later (if PC)....
Secondly, you don't as much softwares or Mac OSes than windows...

Finally, If you like glamor, get a mac.....
If you like functionality and if you are more of a practical person get a PC
