Although my wife's father performed fuel calculations for the original Apollo landing, I'll spare you that speech. Instead, I will encourage you to watch two programs. The first show is called Conspiracy Moon Landing that it currently showing on the National Geographic Channel and it pretty much obliterates all of the popular conspiracy theories.

I would also encourage you to watch a movie called Capricorn One. Made it 1978, it is a fictional story about a fake mission to Mars. Although it is a science fiction story, it is a good example of how utterly impossible it would be to fake a moon landing for any length of time.

12 men walked on the moon from 1969 to 1972 and we have neither the resources nor the technology to pull off that big of a hoax for so long. Hundreds of thousands of people have worked on the space program. It would be far easier to put someone on the moon than to try and fake it and keep it secret for nearly 40 years.

The landings came at a time when our space program was ultra competitive with the former Soviet Union. Remember how big of a deal it was when Sputnik was put into orbit? They had the technology to monitor our moon shots and transmissions. Don't you think they would have called us out if they had evidence that it was all fake?

Perhaps the most definitive proof of our trip to the moon is what we left behind. For the last 35+ years, scientists have been beaming lasers to the moon and measuring the return times. How are they doing this? The beams are reflected back by equipment left on the moon on at 3 different locations.

Case closed.

There is plenty of evidence that those who say the Apollo landing did not happen are at best wrong and at worst deliberately lying to sell cheap and nasty TV shows and books.

If the Moon landings in 1969 and later had been faked thousands of scientists and radio experts around the world would have known straight away. Specially the Russians, but also Germans, French, Spanish, Australians, British, you name it.

Not everyone who worked on Apollo was a US citizen, I know one Australian who was in on it and there were many more. Most of the staff of the ground stations in Australia were Australians, there were also ground stations in Spain.

Almost anyone who was good with tools and had a bit of money could build a suitable antenna and tune a suitable radio into the transmissions from the Moon. There is nothing secret about the construction of such antennas, I have a book on it right here.

The astronauts brought back hundreds of pounds of Moon rocks which were analysed by scientists all over the world. Not all of them were US citizens either. If those rocks had been faked those scientists would have seen it. In any case, the Russians also returned Moon rocks to Earth in three unmanned probes and published the analysis results. The American samples were consistent with the Russian ones.

In addition, the ages that were determined for these rocks were (and still are) older than all rocks found on Earth except for meteorites.

President Nixon. a Republican, began to cut NASA funding in 1968, the year before the first mission. The missions went ahead because the equipment had been built and the people had been employed and trained. The Apollo program was a Democrat project. Later the program came to an end because the US public lost interest, when that happened, funding dried up even more and NASA could not afford to send any more missions and develop the space shuttle and send the Voyager and Mariner probes out. They still have not recovered and various administrations have allowed only modest missions. No bucks, no Buck Rogers.

This site is devoted to the mostly Australian men and women at the Honeysuckle Creek tracking station in Australia which received some of the Apollo transmissions. You can hear one man talking directly to the astronauts on the Moon.

The Moon landings (there were 9 flights to the Moon with 6 landings, not just 1) were real. You just don't know much about it because it isn't in the news anymore and it isn't taught in school history classes. (How crazy is that, it is like old history now!)

See the excellent new documentary, with personal statements by many of the men (but not Armstrong, who shuns publicity) who walked on the Moon, including a few remarks during the closing credits about what the they think of the hoax theories.

As I learned in Astronomy 101,

Everything people point to that would make the moon landing a hoax, are actually misconceptions about space travel that prove it happened.

Radiation Poisoning in Astronauts, explained by the many cataracts they've had.

Flag waving, creases any boyscout knows, kept aloft, in motion due to low gravity, the "flaps" do not change in any pictures. The flag is not waving. (The atmosphere claim)

You can see the landing site from earth with a high powered telescope.

No stars are visible because it is day on the moon, as no stars are visible from earth during the day.

The moon rock is authentic, compared to lunar meteorites.

But the bottom line is the Soviet's would have exposed the HOAX!!!

Well you've probably heard several different rumors but the answer to your question is quite simple. Yes, there was that whole controversy about the flag moving in space when there aint no gravity, and Artmstrong supposedly being the second man to touch foot, but despite those inconsistencies, NASA has indeed provided evidence. Not only were the pictures taken expose unknown radioactive isotopes, but EM waves showed electrical interference. Now if you're asking me, i completely doubt that the government could manage to create new elements - elements which are unknown to the scientific world. So Alas, i guess man really did step foot on the moon.

I've considered that it could be a hoax. I find it strange that we could get a man on the moon in 1969, and have barely been able to break the atmosphere without some disaster since (I do know that's a bit of an exaggeration). I've looked at some of the hoax sites and much of the evidence is pretty convincing. On the other hand, other sites discredit all the evidence. When it comes down to it, I just don't think they could have kept it a secret for so long. I think it happened for real, probably. Then again...I guess we'll never know for sure.

there was a news report way back that a japanese spacecraft was scheduled to orbit the moon and take pictures including possibly the site of earlier moon landings where there are left behind equipment.

so far as i know, there was no report what happened to that japanese craft or that it took any pictures of the landing site.

the chinese are next planning to orbit the moon.

Is there any shortage of idiots on the planet? No shortage of people believing the moonlandings were faked then... They were REAL!!!

Just take a good look at this picture and you´ll see for yourself how many holes there are in the hoaxmorons claim.

-Edit-
You don´t think the soviets would have done anything to prove the US landings were faked Tarek? Because they would have known. And yet they said nothing. If you really are using your brain as you say then you need to buy yourself a new one.

i think the yanks really did land on the moon think about it Russia was trying to get there first so you would think that if it was a hoax Russia would have blown the whistle long ago

It was a hoax Armstrong wanted to land but when he got close to the moon he got really scared of something.I heard that he saw or heard something and just left the flag hanging in the space.NASA didn't want to disappoint the people and they lied.
