it's called suspension of disbelief. You accept that they are in a classroom setting and that there is no way, in real life, that they are going to talk that much or break into a song and dance without someone stepping up and putting a stop to it. It's because no one wants to watch kids sitting in class doing boring school work, they want to see a storyline. The goal of the show or movie is to break away from the reality of day to day activities and give you a little excitement.
