Lots of them. Usually I told it to avoid further questions that a truthful answer would bring.
For instance. Q:Did you pay the cable bill today honey?
My lie: Sure did.
If I told the truth, it would next be why didn't you? when are you going to? didn't I tell you it was due? etc, etc.
Makes sense to lie sometimes now ha?

Yes, I have lied both for myself and for other people. I told a lie to protect myself, I told a lie to cover my boss and I told a lie to cover a friend. Though lies are not good but they are necessary at times.

told it because i didn't want to tell the truth and the point of telling it is to not come clean unless someone gets hurt.

I lied to one of my best friends for two years... but it was fora good reason, to protect us both. Okay that sounds like some creepy mafia thing.... I just said I didn't see him as more than a friend when I actually did. TMI... anyway. I don't regret it.
