NO, all the invaders lie, they'll tell you that they're saving you or giving you freedom, but it's just a lie

Yes, Saddam's move into Kuwait was done for the express purpose of taking Kuwait's oilfields. He needed the money, being bankrupted by the Iran/Iraq War.

Many here in this country believe that because he was our friend at the time, we should have let him have them based upon the fact that he was the bigger power within the region.

But, the Kuwaiti family has been our ally for much longer and has never pulled any punches on us and without doubt, deserved our support.

Mad and feeling betrayed by us, thus, began the WMD games that eventually bought down the dictator.

It depends on the conquerer. I don't think there was ever any doubt that Napolian was greedy. Hitler conquered for control and national pride. As for the United States? Some could say we're conquerers, while some say we're liberators. Then there are the Mexicans. Slowly sneaking across our borders, having their children, and stealing jobs. Sure the southwest may technically be part of the US, but when 75% are spanish speaking Mexicans, how can you say they didn't conquer? Utlimately you will rarely have an honest conquerer. Not when most require deceit as their main weapon.

Only in corporate business. One company acquires another company because it's in their best interest. It increases profits. There is no pretense at all. Put your competitors out of business, buy, dominate, control, as much as you can.

Corporations are much more honest than countries.
