I think in that position I probably would do (lose interest), a crush is all about seeing an ideal-ised view of someone and after something like that happened, it would be harder to do that I suppose.

Just be honest with the guy, you are not interested in dating right now, there are other things in life that you have to focus on like school or work and you just don't have time to focus on a relationship. Say you hope for the best for him and that you can still be friends. Any normal guy will accept that answer, I have before lol.

Not really it all depends on what is causing the loss of interest.
When I was 12 yrs old I was already dating girls, but when it came time and we got too close I would back off.
never get too close was my motto.
Then when I turned 15 yrs old all hell broke loose and for the next11 yrs I would play and never get married until one day at the age of 26 this lovely girl waltzes into my life and I literally go nuts even after all those girls I have been with nothing compared to Julie.
She was the one.

No, that has not happened to me yet. It would be hard for one of my crushes to do that, because he does not even know that I have a crush on him.
