Ok I want to get into web development. But I am totally confused which way I should i go php or asp.net.

PHP sounds easy because you use mysql and apache and that seems like full package.

Asp.net on other hand sounds confusing because you have to learn another .net langugage( i thought asp.net was a language) such c or visual basic and off course any database.

Can somebody please give me advice ..Thanks in advance

It really depends if you are working in an open source environment or a Microsoft environment.

PHP is easier to learn because it's just a scripting language for the web.

ASP.Net is a small subset of C#.Net and/or VB.Net, both of which are full development languages. There is considerably more to know when working with ASP.Net, but it is significantly more powerful and robust.

Casual coders (or open source guys) use PHP. Professionals (and most corporations) use ASP.Net.

Honestly, the best way to look at it is like this. What platform do you want. If you use PHP, you can work on multi-platforms. If you choose asp, it only works with windows. PHP is fantastic IMO. I'm a PHP user myself and I love it because it is ever growing and the best part about it in the past was the fact that it was started by a group of people that did all the work and the community helped out but now they've got it to where the community does the work and they just add it in their release of the code if they like it. But it is every growing and ever changing. Whereas asp is by microsoft to be develoved by microsoft to be added and changed by microsoft. I hope that helps.

Read the article on www.skytargets.com, web designs, "some truth about coders and coding". This is PhP v ASP explained in details.
There is no comparison... and a big winner!
(You won't like any MS product after that...)
