I've got a futon. It's great. The frame never used to creak. Now it creaks with every movement? Why? I've had it for one year and one quarter year.

the timber has dried out . take it out side spray squeaking joints with food grade silicon this may help ,or pry app art squeaky joints glue with pva glue & clamp then nail.

The timber has dried out, try some oil that is made for timber furniture.

You got a screw loose!

Might help to glue, and clamp, and also restain/oil the wood.
