She should go to a doctor, because this is not normal. I probably have endometriosis (can't get officially diagnosed unless I get surgery) and I often get sharp pains all over, especially in my vaginal area. Usually during my period, and not when I am aroused. But there are other possibilities, so she needs to see a doctor.

Pain during intercourse is usually one of the symptoms of most of the STD's. I would suggest this be the first course of action.

Another cause of pain is if there is an abnormality. For instance, the g-spot is an actual organ, bump, right at the entrance of the vagina. If it's overly enlarged, it may make intercourse uncomfortably.

Of course, she might want to seek professional help from an OBGYN, to know the exact cause of the pain.
