...the Mets might not even make the playoffs. I hope they do, since I like New York to win, but the way the things are going, anything can happen in that tight NL race to the playoffs.

The Yankees always have been a better team than the Mets.

Stat Guy, go check the Standings. You are the stat guy, aren't you?

so you better hope that your Mets win ALL 4 remaining games. 3 of them are against the Marlins, so I dont know about the "1st place" you stupid Mets fans always mention before everything.

SP for the Yankees are bad? What are you smoking? Each team, with the exception of the Red Sox, have 2 top pitchers in the AL.

I am a Mets fan and they just plain stink
The Yanks are better with more character. Shows you how someone wants success and someone can just be complacent.

Can someone tell stat guy why does he still care about 86? That's past is gone. It don't matter anymore. That being said notice how many of the user Met fans who where talking so loud are not around all of a sudden. LOL! He's talking about a better offense but yet his team can't even beat the Nationals? I find that very funny.

That's like trying to compare apples and oranges. Two different teams in two different leagues under vastly different circumstances. And don't kid yourself, the Yankees are a far better team than the Mets. Actually the Phillies (at least on paper) are better than the Mets.

There are still a few games left in the season. Anything can happen.

That's no way to judge which team is better.

I would say the Mets have a better chance at making it to the World Series, since the Angels, Red Sox and Indians, are all much better then any NL team.

My World Series Prediction: Angels over Mets

(and as much as I hate to admit it, the Yanks are proabably the best team in New York, not that it'll matter)

This isn't really a question... the Mets are in the same situation they were last year... lack a consistent bat and lack starting pitching... I expect them to get bounced in the first round if they make it.

Yankees have the consistent bats but also have bad SP. First team to clinch means nothing... and unfortunately the way the SP is for both teams, they are both done before the playoffs start.

Not true. The Mets were better than the Skanks in '86, and they are better this year. I'll take Pedro, Glavine, Hernandez over Wang, Moose and whoever else they got.

Plus, the Mets have a better offense.

The only reason the Mets haven't clinched is because they don't get the privilege of playing the Blue Jays, Rays, and O's for most of their games.

Let me ask you this: how come the Mets are first in their division and the Skanks are second?

They play in a different league. It's not possible to make the comparison you're making.
