This sounds like a variation of Soylent Green:
"Soylent Green is people!"
I don't even want to think of the process that would be required to accomplish this. Yes, I think people would be offended because we are engrained in ceremony. It is believed that signs of ritual burial note the first indication of true civilization. Would we be relinquishing our hold on being civilized?
I would not mind being cremated, but I wouldn't care to be in someone's fireplace.

Would make no difference to me but the fuel source on a national scale would be exhausted in a short time. One body equals about 1.5 pounds of coal. The US burns thousands of tons an hour just for electricity. A human corpse weighs what, 100 to 300 lbs? That's a lot of bodies! I think they'd run out in a few days and start looking for living people who don't look so good! Can't let the fires run out when there's money to be made! Here's something to look at.

What if your mama were next to be converted?
No.... and
emphatically, No!
That's gross. I'd give up using driving first and go back to renewable energy, like wood scraps...
Not to mention the possiblility of 'scavangers' going out and turning perfectly good people into fuel sources... (murder).
Though, I have to admit, it would eliminate funeral costs as a bonus, one time savings (per corpse).

Yes, I would be highly offended! Corpes are peoples loved one's bodies. That is just plain wrong to even be thinking this way!

Is this a poll to judge public sentiment for a sequel to Soylent Green?

Lord, we should find SOME use for them! I plan to be cremated and sprinkled in flower gardens. Using me for energy will work just as well!

I would be relieved, I have been worried about where we were gonna bury all these people in the future, I think that would be a great idea.

I wouldn't be offended if it was each individual's choice whether to be "recycled" that way.
