I have a personal website.Sometimes I worry that people out there steal my stories or my pics ( I got some beautiful nature pics from my beloved village ).
Does anybody know how can I have a copyright and nobody can copy paste my pics ???
Thanks in advance.

People will still be able to copy your pics, however, one step you can take is to overlay a transparent gif, so they can't save the images using the typical right click Save images as, however, in the end, the best you can do is register your works, and if you ever find someone who is posting them as their own work, bring it to their attention, if necessary using legal mediums, and make sure if they don't take it down, at least aknowledge they were made by you, and link back to your site, depends what you want, having it on another site linking back to your own might add some extra traffic for people looking for more of your photographs.
Edit: Yes, watermarking, you can do it with Photoshop, you could also use The Gimp

Add "Copyright 2007" and your name or your domain name at the bottom of each page of your site. There is an automatic implied copyright on your creations and they are protected under the DCMA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act). If you find any of your content being used, you can contact the webhost of the infringing party and get them taken down by filing a claim (I know - I had to do that after someone stole my entire site and changed my name to his.)
There is also a site called Copyscape (http:/www.copyscape.com) that will help you search for copies of your materials.
There is always a way to copy stuff and all the Javascript and gifs won't stop it. People can turn off Javascript. People can do a print screen and grab images. There's always a way.

If it's available on the web, it can be copied. There is no way around it. There are many ways to get around even the best 'copy protection' for sites, some are very simple, others not so simple. Either way, if it's there, it can be copied. I feel the same way, as I have my own website, but there's really not much you can do about it. The only thing I can suggest is to find the best javascript or other protection script to prevent menu-clicking (or not allowing the menu). Even then, as I said, there's still a way around that.

well make sure the pics on your site are in a low res, basically reduce the quality a bit. I dont know about the stories cuz one can easily copy/paste those. watermarkin pics is a good solution too. you can use photoshop for that. Also add a message on your pages saying "copyright 2007....etc". See other smaller sites for their copyright messages and create your own to place on your site. thats what i did (see my siteand see my copyright message: http://mmendoonline.com )
your work may still be riped off by others but if anything be sure to have the original work JUUUST in case.

The only thing you can do is copyright your images/stories and put a little blurb like "Images appearing on this web site are Copyright 2007 by Someone's Name" on your website, then put a watermark on the images themselves.

Technically once you save an original image to your computer it is copyrighted to you . If you find others using it you can threaten to sue them which may or may not be worth it to you.
I would suggest watermarking the images or using flash as it makes it harder for a person to take. If they are that important to you you probably should not put them on the web at all though. Nothing is secure on the web.
