I haven't gotten mine yet. And I took my first "sugar" pill yesterday night and I haven't gotten mine yet. Is this normal? This is my first pack so perhaps my cycle hasn't completely started to follow it yet. Usually, I get them around the first.

No, I haven't had sex in almost 8 months either. So, it's not a pregnancy thing.

I normally get my period 72 hours (3 days) after the last active pill. It takes your body a while to notice the drop in hormones.

If you are in the first three months of starting a new pill then things may be a little screwy.

It's normal to get your period any time during the placebo week/week off. I usually don't get my period until the third or forth day off of active pills.

Also, it's normal to miss a period while on 'the pill'. If you don't get your period this week, take a pregnancy test. If you test negative, continue to take your pills as normal. Even if it was a false negative test it's okay. "The pill" does NOT cause birth defects, miscarriages or abortion. If you miss two periods in a row, call your doctor.

I say this because of the lies about 'the pill' during early pregnancy. The pill IS safe during early pregnancy. Often women will think they might be pregnant and stop taking their pills only to find themselves getting pregnant. Never stop taking your pill unless you've already confirmed a pregnancy or you've talked to your doctor and are using a back up method of contraception.

This is how birth control works. First off, it takes at least 2 to 4 months for your period to regulate yourself and everyone woman is different. For instance, my period starts 3 days after my last pill.

Another thing is that the pill actually causes you to have a false period. Basically, the pill doesn't allow your uterus to build up a lining for your egg to attach to and it falls right out of the body. The "period" you have at the end of the month is a light shedding of the lining that is always there before your cycle starts. It's weird, but the pill doesn't prevent pregnancy by stopping the flow of the eggs or killing sperm.

It makes the uterus walls thin with lining causing the eggs to fall right out of the body so they cannot be ferilized.

Just remember to continue to take the pill once a day and it'll work how it's suppose to.

Since this is your first pack I would not worry about it as it takes time for your body to regulate because of the pills.

Give it a few pill packs. And also do not expect it all the time to come on your first reminder pill. It could take up to your third, fourth, or fifth pill to get your period.

Your period is supposed to come some time during the week that you take your "sugar pills" or placebos. Don't worry just yet. When you do run out of placebs, start your next pack, even if you are still bleeding.

Yes, it's normal.

If your cycle is 28 days and you have the 28 day pack, you should get your period on the third sugar pill.

You don't need to call your Gyn.

I start my period on every 3rd sugar pill. Your body may still be adjusting to the hormone levels. Give it a couple months. Your body will regulate. :)

Sometimes you skip a pill and you may have spotting but check with your primary care provider.
