OF COURSE NOT!!!! It's a scam to do identity theft. You give them your information, and then they impersonate you for financial fraud. If you didn't apply to Shell then it's a fraud 110%.

Did you apply for a job at Shell?
If not, it's almost certainly a scam. Eventually, they'll either ask for money to be wired to them, or your bank account info to send the salary. Of course what will really happen is your bank account will get emptied.
Lastly, they just might ask for all kinds of info, and then do some major identity fraud.
If you have a real email address to reply to, I always like to ask them if they are proud of stealing from stupid people. Do they brag about what they do to their family. Lastly I suggest they get a real productive job so they can take pride in what they do, instead of being a leach on the @ss of society.

hi i received the same letter as the one u received. Please check their website. i.e shell Nigeria.com. U will find tat they have their own servers and all mail id is as shell.com. how can this person Richard Irwan have a gmail account if he is the HR manager. Also the Nigerian immigration authority has a Yahoo id. I strongly feel its fake. I dont think shell has to recruit people through some job sites. Please read the shell website carefully and u will find about the scams tat r involved.

more than likely its a scam. there has been alot of scams from nigeria over the last couple years. i got one from canada that said i won 75,000 dollars and they would send 3,000 of it to my bank account for other country transfer fees, like i said it was supposed to be from canada, when i called they gave me an address in nigeria, i took the info to my bank and they verified it was a scam to drain my bank account......also if they ask you to send money to get started in that so called career, dont do it.....you should never have to pay to start working.

STOP & DISCARD!
Do NOT get into that!
to enable you receive your first monthly salary including your due entitlements
means they want your banking info - the moment you give them the right to direct deposit into your bank - they can ALSO withdraw.
Direct Deposit gives them YOUR signature to access your bank account - the access is not limited to deposit only - they can and will check your account until you have enough money in it and then poof it's gone and banks are not liable because you personally gave your signature.
