First, the teacher can't make anyone wear anything, and less something that represents a religion. Y the teacher don't wear a satanic cross or something like that? bcz it is against the teacher religion, so she wont't wear that, so she can't make anyone wear something that is agains't their religion. Second, the teacher is just racist, she want's to "create" the feeling that muslim women feels marginate and discriminated, when it isn't true, muslim woman are very proud of whom they are and of their religion. of course, a non muslim woman wearing hijab won't feel very confortable wearing it.
third, y not all the student's wearing hijab??? see, is only discrimination
ps. i'm not muslim

I don't believe it broke any laws, but rather the teacher was asking her to do it to share her culture. Such as a Jewish man to wear his yamalka. She can refuse and say no, that she would be uncomfortable to wear it in public. The teacher should have asked her in private to wear it, so that the student should have had the option to say yes or no privately - it should not have been done in front of the class.

There is probably some law against this, whether it be sexism or religiously based. The fact is that it most likely won't negatively effect an individual but teach them what it is like to live behind a veil. Especially woman, I would think it would open their eyes to the oppression imposed on the opposite gender in many societies, including our own.

It sounds similar to a class where they have the students attend to a doll as if it were a baby to teach some parenting skills. I don't see anything wrong with the assignment.

I'm a college student myself and I don't see anything wrong with this assignment. It's all about being in someone else's shoes for a day and gaining some perspective. Don't worry about it just do the assignment and reply back with your experiences.

The teacher "asked" and if the woman or women consented and are not being forced to do it, I don't see that there is anything illegal about it. It might enlighten those that are free to dress as they please as to how women of other cultures dress, whether they wish to dress that way or are forced to do so because of religious beliefs. Not being a muslim, I can't imagine having to wear those long garments restricting my movements and sight. But then again, if you are brought up believing that this is the proper and correct thing to do, then it probably would not bother you.

Why would the males were one anyways? Why would this violate any laws? It is a assignment to help understand a different culture why are you thinking it is so bad?

If it's mandatory, then it's illegal. But of course the teacher has no way of knowing if the girls actually wear it all day or not. I'm sure if anyone objected she wouldn't force them, because that would be illegal.

The teacher is ignorant of the purpose that hijab serves. You don't have to follow this off-base assignment. I don't see anything illegal with it though.

Did you know they're called women?
It's legal. It's adults who are free to choose to act to follow the instruction or not.
