There are some who for personal or racial agendas perpetrate the theory that the ancient Egyptians and most Pharaohs were of ******* ethnicity.
This is a fallacy that has been determined as incorrect from forensic and anatomical investigation of the mummified remains of over 100 individuals of a cross section of dynastic eras.
There are many websites that offer a wealth of detail information. I would however steer you away from Wikipedia as it has many instances of incorrect datings and events in Egyptian ancient history.
This is because the contributions are not necessarily written by people who are qualified in Egyptology or archaeology of Egypt and haven't the required knowledge of the topic.
Some excellent websites include Tour Egypt Guardians Egypt BBC ancient history website and a site called Ancient Egypt.

They were black. Sistablue, go and argue with those people on the site below and see how far you get in an intelligent debate.
DNA evidence on Modern day Egyptians and study of crania point to an ancestral East African origin.
I think that paintings and statues like these would make an intelligent and open minded person realise that the people of Ancient Egypt/Kemet were black.
Like TourEgypt a website run by Modern Arab Egyptians would really admit that Ancient Egyptians were black African people.

No the original people of Egypt where not black, only the nubians were considered black.
