Hi Angel,
And could it be the greatest unhappiness could be the search for happiness! Perhaps the greatest happiness is learning how to appreciate what you’ve got and not to build romantic, impractical dreams around what true happiness is. Even the dreariest of days might hold a hint of hope and happiness, if only through admiring the cloud formation above and being appreciative that we have the sight to be able to witness this. Acceptance can lead to happiness. Yes, finding the source of unhappiness and distancing yourself from this will help. Along with a belief that you CAN do something about it. Some people would rather complain than try to correct!

The greatest happiness is to know - there is nothing actually like happiness and unhappiness. One follows another and in that cycle no state is stable.
This is a known truth, but still human like to take only happiness.
Once if we get the true knowledge of the falseness of the duality, then our mind will be stable and will not bother about the changes. That is the real happy state.

No, I've known the particular sources of my unhappiness in many instances and it has not made the situation any less unhappy. I think it would be more accurate to say that the greatest happiness would be to embrace that source.

Great question. I definitely agree with your statement. How could one attain true or great happiness if you haven't at all knew the source of unhappiness. Unhappiness in one's life plays a great contrbution to happiness. It is an ingredient to know happiness in life. I honestly believe one could not feel the greatest happiness if it is wanting of unhappiness at its source.

Thanks. Have a good day!

It is certainly the beginning of the road at least. That's where The Buddha began, and his way makes most sense to me. He saw it in attachment. But that doesn't deny that the greatest satisfaction (a reasonable substitute, perhaps, for what others might aspire to as "happiness") can come from fierce attachment, to others or to a cause for which one is willing to freely sacrifice happiness and other options - in which case it isn't a sacrifice at all, but merely the price.

If you suffer through illness I guarantee after you are better, you will receive the greatest joy and happiness with God.

Also if you have a situation or troublesome matter, you can always go to God The Blessed Sacrament of Adoration, and He will always take your troubles and help you for the better.

Also, if I'm starving hadn't eaten for breakfast or lunch, I get cranky which is normal for all, but I am greatful knowing when I get him there is food on the table or in the fridge. Thank you, God. YOu see, in tough situations, you have to see the beauty the joy. It's a good thing if you can.

I believe the greatest happiness lies in our ability to control the source of unhappiness which resides within ourselves. And of course we must know it first before we can control it.

Yes. Until you can identify what you do NOT want to experience, you cannot give it up - make a better choice. It is only our embedded programmed beliefs that imprison us in this way - accepting painful situations because we've been taught to believe that pain is inevitable.
