I know, I know, it's a totally different medium. AND when they make a book into a movie, the book is always better. Still, the question remains. I'll give you a few of mine, just to get you started. Maybe I'll watch a few of yours. 5-10 please; any more than that & I'll be forced to think you watch more than you write (lol).
Thanks all!

I wouldn't say "inspire" as in follow in that particular film's footsteps, but just make you want to write. For example, in "Finding Neverland" there's a part near the end where a kid whispers "Is that Mr. Barrie?" That line, every time, I swear . . .
It's a different kind of "inspiration", I think.

They don't really inspire exactly, but I loved to watch these and laugh about the writers in them:

1. Wonder Boys
2. Stranger Than Fiction
3. Funny Farm
4. Throw Mama From the Train
5. Adaptation

And the scary side of writers/ writing:
1. Misery
2. The Shining
3. Secret Window

None, really. I don't draw inspiration from the work of others. But I do like to use movies for relaxation and breaks sometimes.

I am a big Mel Brooks fan. Blazing Saddles, The Producers, Young Frankenstein, History of the World ... I love them all. It's good to be the king ..

It may be a different medium, film vs. literature, but I believe the actual question here is what causes someone to go write fan fiction after watching. Myself, I usually don't go and start writing fan fic immediately after watching a movie. But when I'm in the mood I do write fan fiction. As far as movie related, I do Star Wars fan fiction.
