Yes, and I posted it online too to embarrass myself, so I guess I can tell you...
I was singing along to The Who's 'Eminence Front' you know, it's a put on?
And I sang
"We're livin' in the funk!"
"It's a put on, it's a put on..."
..and my boyfriend and his son just stared at me...
I felt so foolish...In that instant, I realized I had been singing that song wrong for many years! ( I never had the album-that's my excuse.)

All the time! For years I have been singing the wrong lyrics to Man in the mirror!!! I've been singing: As I turn up the carnival My favorite winter colt ( like a horse) This wind is blowing my mine..... ( Because apparently, wind blowing gold or coal mines away was a big problem in the 80's) Then I do okay with the lyrics until I get to this part: A slumber's disregard A Broken Baba Tard ( I don't know what I was thinking when I used to sing that) And a wine man's soul I also completely botched up 'Human Nature". I used to say: Looking out across the nighttime The City Winks its sleepless eye Gather Lois ( who the hell is Lois?) shake my window (And why is she shaking windows??) The Swiss are losing sights Edit: I just listened to Human Nature again and I just realized that I still don't know the lyrics. What is he saying? It almost sounds like he saying, "gird your loins, cause I'm shaking windows". I've never really paid much attention to the lyrics until tonight, LOL.

Oh yeah. And sometimes the lyrics I imagined were better than the actual lyrics. In that case, I keep singing my version!

yea, its pretty sad how completely off i usually am. the worst part is singing the song in front of ppl who actually know the lyrics and they look at you like you are crazy lol : )
