Why hasn't the media reported that after Katrina when our own government hadn't done anything, people in New Orleans who still had working cell phones started calling the French consulates when things got really desperate??? Apparently a lot of people were calling and eventually, some very old woman who spoke French got through to the main embassy in Washington, DC. The people working there, like all of us, had been watching everything on CNN for days and when they realized she spoke French, they put her on speaker phone - some of the embassy people listening got very upset after this and a high official called the French president in the middle of the night and got him out of bed. Then he called President Bush, who was still at his ranch in Texas, and said if Bush didn't do something soon he was going to humiliate Pres Bush by calling a press conference offering to send in the French military on a humanitarian aid mission. Only then did our own president fly back to Washington!!!

That's right, blame the government. They did absolutely nothing to help those people?????? No one came in like the Red Cross, etc. Whose troops were down there then? The French? What a crock. Try blaiming the officials of the area also. They sure screwed things up. It was their own cops that were looting too. Did Bush put them up to it I wonder?

Plus, I don't think the French would be bothered at all. Did they send any monetary aide? Did any other country? I'm asking this seriously as I do not know.

The US government was fully engaged from the beginning and immediately provided help as soon as the state requested it as required by law. The state was slow and once activated, things simply do not happen overnight. Scotty and Star Trek are fiction; nothing could be beamed down. If people did call the French Consulate for help, they were totally uneducated on what to do - another fault of the city and state.

Never heard anything so ridiculous in my whole life. It is time for New Orleans people to get up off their A-- clean up the mess and put their lives back together instead of setting around crying and looking for free handouts.

Do you have a source to back this up!? If not, then please don't post such nonsense!

And FYI, military choppers did make an effort to help Katrina victims, as did others, but were greeted by gunfire and/or other forms of violence.

AND I DO have sources for you!

Wow I'm so glad the French straightened it all out for us. I have never heard such garbage in my life. But it is good for a laugh.

Wow. But hey, who else can we blame but ourselves? We voted him into office- not once but twice. He doesn't care about anyone who is not in his cabinet, why is that?
Well its cause the cabinet controls him.
And they only care about themselves.

Not So Crazy Bout Bush!
