Finally, here's how Jesus illustrated generosity in Mark 12:

The Widow's Offering
41Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins,[j]worth only a fraction of a penny.[k]

43Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on."

Difficult one this I don't envy you. What you need to do is examine the concept of generosity, is it Bill Gates setting up a foundation with money that he cannot possibly spend in ten lifetimes? or is it the stranger who will give you his/her own money to get you home after losing all your own money? Maybe generosity by way of giving the benefit of doubt over a wrong doing. Real generosity is giving of yourself without regard to cost or recompense, glory or recognition
