Is it alright to go into pre-pharmacy without taking AP chemistry in high school? I took chemistry-honors and made an A in it. Will I do fine in the pre-pharm program?

Despite the fact that AP Chemistry is a course geared toward highly motivated students with interests in chemical and physical sciences and prepares students to take the AP Chemistry exam toward the end of the academic year and the course topics include atomic theory, chemical bonding, phases of matter, solutions, types of reactions, equilibrium, reaction kinetics, and thermodynamics, it's good to have but of course is not a prerequisite. You'll be fine with chemistry (especially since it was an honors class).
Good luck to you.

Pharmacy uses a field of chemistry known as organic chemistry, so you should definitely take AP chemistry. Petroleum engineering uses physics and inorganic chemistry, so either AP chemistry or AP physics would be a good choice, depending on what you're interested in. As someone said, AP biology is definitely the most memorizing of the three, while AP physics is the most mathematically based. AP chemistry is a mix of the two.

You'll be fine. In fact, I don't recommend taking AP Chemistry because that grade is so important in terms of getting into pharmacy school. Also, a number of pharmacy schools don't accept AP Chemistry scores.

As you did not take AP chem, you will need to take a full general chemistry sequence of courses, which is 2 semesters in length with lab sections for each. Some schools may require a placement test to ensure you're qualified to sit in a full gen chem class as they cover material a lot faster and in more depth than high school level chemistry. If you've taken regular high school chem then you're probably fine, however.

it all depends on the work and how you're able to handle the stress. if you made A's, then you should be confident enough to keep going! don't lose sleep about little things like that!
