Will the USA invade Myanmar to depose a brutal, repressive goverment and spread peace,democracy and freedom?

Keep in mind there is no oil or anything else the US would want to extract from Myanmar.

It's so obvious that it makes me sick... The USA will only invade a country if it has an economic, national security, or criminal interest (remember Manuel Noriega in Panama) = It will only use military force when its interests are affected. Plain and simple.

The USA will never invade Mynamar, even if there was no Iraq or Afghanistan. It doesn't meet our criteria even if its citizens cry out for American-style democracy. There's no economic interest or natural resources. I'm sure there's drug traffic coming through the country but Myanmar is not close distance-wise to the USA. Most importantly, how would China and Russia feel about the USA using military force in a country so close to them? Look at what happened in the Vietnam conflict when those countries were funding North Vietnam and the VC's to fight American troops.

And what if Russia decided to invade El Salvador or Belize? Don't you think the USA would do something, even if they're tiny countries in our hemisphere? Oh yea... remember the Cuban Missle Crisis.

Lastly, does any American parent want to see their sons and daughters in Mynamar (possibly fighting in a civil war) for a couple of years? It's political sucide...

It's a very depressing fact... But the USA doesn't truly care about democracy in countries that don't meet our economic and strategic interests. We may say a lot about spreading democracy, but when called to action... We just stand on the sidelines most times. I just wish the American government would outright say this, and not fool the world into hoping the USA will really help them out.

I've been reading that Mynamar citizens are asking for help from the USA, like a military force or even bombing strategic government sites. It's sad their requests will not be met. We'll just hear more American rhetoric about how evil the Mynamar government is, and how we're holding their financial interests. Blah Blah Blah.

To tell you the truth, there are only two ways to realistically help Mynamar. The UN or USA can "buy" China's corporation, like providing more economic benefits to China. I'm sure China is trading weapons with the Mynamar government. Or the USA can indirectly train and send weapons to the government opposition which will cause a long and bloody civil war...

No, the US is a little busy right now. It is really something the UN should be involved with and I am sure they will get to it, right after the Sudan.
