physical mixture of chemicals does not involve rearrangement of electrons to the structure of the mixed chemicals so that each individual chemical retain its own identity.

chemical reaction occurs whenever the electrons of the mixed chemical rearrange to find a stable state. As such, new substances are formed.

A physical mixture can be seperated by physical means. Such as boiling, crystalization, chromatography.

In a chemical reaction, the components cannot be seperated by physical means, but only by another chemical reaction
