A commerical freight carrier is flying at a constant speed of 400 mi/h and is traveling 4 mi east for every 3 mi north. A private plane is observed to be 210mi due east of the commerical carrier, traveling 12 mi north for every 5 mi west.If it is known that they are on a collision course, how fast is the private plane flying?

Ok so when i tried the problem out..., the freight has a slope of 4/3;The private plane 12/-5;The freight is traveling at 400mi/h; and the we need to know the plane; so maybe i try putting y=mx+b for both making them equal to find the speed? I got lost trying to find speed.Help?

Best way to work that problem is get your graph paper and graph it out. That is the way I always work them.
