we are a generation of fast-fooders, where drive thrus take too long and when you're already going over the speed limit, people are passing you left and right. We never have time to do the things we want or enjoy. We don't make time for those that need us. We don't have a minute to "catch our breath". Does anyone even remember what a rose smells like?

But there is always sometime for introspection and stillness. It is a good idea to stand on the hill and watch things go fast.

Why to spend more time on things that could be accomplished faster?
Give time to things that need focusing, such as solving problems, caring for kids, and making a decision to know someone or people who might buy you roses on the valentine's Day, or any other occasion, so you never forget how a rose smells like!

Is it that we don't make time or that there is just so much more to do? I make sure that I do things that I enjoy and make me feel good. I make time for others and I love the smell of roses! There are so many more things available to us that didn't exist hundreds of years ago. I find that people are putting their kids into more activities than they used to, they themselves do more than just work and come home. Some people thrive on constant movement and others not so much. I think we have a healthy mix in this world.

Yes I have a rose bush and know what it smells like ... I think we need to connect to the natural world more. That is what feeds the soul.

Simple things like walking in the park, growing your own fruit and vegetables, feeding birds, hiking in the woods, baking your own bread ...

Good point, but would you give it all up? I wouldn't, i think giving up our time is the price we pay in order to appreciate modern society.
