Check out 'blue eyes' by Gram Parsons. He was in the Byrds for their country record, Sweetheart of the Rodeo. He also was the leader of a great country band called the Flying Burrito Brothers. He also influenced the Rolling Stones to lean toward country on their gem, Exile on Main Street.

All for the love of a girl

Well, today I'm so weary, today I'm so blue,
Sad and broken hearted and it's all because of you.
Life was so sweet Dear, life was a song,
Now you've gone and left me, oh where do I belong?

And it's all for the love of a dear little girl,
All for the love, that sets your heart in a whirl.
I'm a man who'd give his life and the joys of this world.
All for the love of a girl.

And it's all for the love of a dear little girl,
All for the love, that sets your heart in a whirl.
I'm a man who'd give his life and the joys of this world.
All for the love of a girl.

I also like this one Faded Love by Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys this is from the 1940s

"Faded Love"

As I look at the letters that you wrote to me
It's you that I am thinking of
As I read the lines that to me were so dear
I remember our faded love
I miss you darlin' more and more every day
As heaven would miss the stars above
With every heartbeat I still think of you
And remember our faded love.
As I think of all the pleasures we had
As I watch the mating of the dove
It was in the springtime that you said goodbye
And I remember our faded love
I miss you darlin' more and more every day
As heaven would miss the stars above
With every heartbeat I still think of you
And remember our faded love.
And remember our faded love.

It's not an older song but

Long Slow Kisses - Jeff Bates
The Love Song - Jeff Bates

Buy me a Rose - Kenny Rogers ( I love this one)

I know there are more, but can't think of them now.

I dont like country. That being said Ian Tyson a Canadian country artist has alot of awsome love songs. I dont know if its what you are looking for, but try "Springtime in Alberta" "Fifty Years Ago" and "Hot Summer Trails" my favorite. Hard to find his music, its older and never really became popular. But worth a listen.

First one I thought of was "I Fall to Pieces" by Patsy Cline
A little newer, Glen Campbell's "By the Time I get To Phoenix"
Then a little older one, a traditional folk tune, "I Gave My Love a Cherry"
One more, "Help Me Make it Through the Night" by Kris Kristofferson. good luck. peace
