Ok folk, i hate to ask this in year 2007 almost 2008, but why the hell does race matter???? Why do i have to say what race i am on my resume? Why does my race apply to my college application? WTF???? Oh and btw, I am white. This is like a ******* crucifix above me? SCREW RACE!!!! Remove it from transcripts. Remove it from job applications. If you want equality step up or shoe shine *****. We should not be lowering standards to meet race, that is why our education system is failing, If your race isn't up to standard then **** off.

Woo hoo!!! Bout time someone said what was on their mind when it comes to race!

I agree, I think we (people as a whole) have moved passed this race issue already. yeah, some are still back in the stoneages but most of us could really give a rip less what race you are or what religion you practice. We're pretty much open minded individuals. So why that box is still on applications, school records, transcripts, etc., is beyond me! I also agree with you that lowers standards when you consider someone's race like that--that's like saying you'ld only hire someone if they had a certain color hair regardless of what their experience was...it's plain ignorant.

Shame ...shame...shame.....the fact that your are saying this means you are exercising white privilege. We still have racist issues, in employment, housing, police brutality, and white's having only "1" black friend, according to several scholarly studies. If race doesn't matter why do we see so many whites in position of power, but blacks are well qualified for the same opportunity! OK! Good luck with "post racial". I bet all of you stay in all white neighborhoods! And yes I'm a black man....saying this....don't call the police call me in for an interview!.....Peace!

I think i get what u are saying. if we keep making it such a question how can we get past our matters. I dont think it should matter i think the people who want to learn in college should be able to regardless of race or gender.
