If a girl does not bleed, does it mean that she no longer is a virgin?

not at all true. sometimes the hymen can stretch or be torn before having sex. ignore what "vixen" said because a tampon inserted wrong or falling really hard on your pelvic bone when you're very young, etc. there's a LOT of reasons your hymen can be dislodged. blood is NOT proof of virginity. having sex is the only way not to be a virgin anymore.

Let me clear the air on this:
1. A "virgin" is someone who is sexually untouched.
2. Lesbian, gay or straight sex counts as losing your virginity!
3. Not all girls bleed during intercourse.
4. If a girl doesn't bleed but she has had sex with a male OR with a female partner, she is NO LONGER A VIRGIN.
5. If a man has only had sex with other men, he is no longer a virgin, either. (Same goes for lesbian sex).
6. The female's hymen stretches and sometimes breaks and she bleeds, but not always. Horseback riding can even do this. Painful! But there is no "cherry." The hymen is a thin membrane layer in the vaginal opening, and some people think a female is a virgin until a man penetrates her. THAT is an ignorant belief. Virginity is not strictly heterosexual sex or the hymen breaking. That's just an old fashioned, sexist opinion, but it's not a fact.

...Class dismissed.

No to both or your questions. If a girls hymen was already broken in sports or broken by some other means then she will not bleed the first time she has sex. If she has never had a penis inside the vagina then she is a virgin. Whether she bleeds or not the first time is not an issue.

Not all girls bleed. Not all girls have pain. I had a whole lot of pain, but no blood the first time I had sex. Bleeding or not has nothing to do with being a virgin.

There can be pain and/or blood when the hymen breaks upon penatration.

The hymen is the thin membrane that sometimes covers the opening to the vagina if you're a virgin. I say "sometimes" because, even if you haven't had sex, the hymen can do a bit of a disappearing act due to an overzealous workout at the gym, horseback riding, tampons, and even passionate "heavy petting" with your boyfriend. (It's not an impenetrable barrier, anyway, as it has holes to allow menstrual blood to escape.)

not everyone bleeds the first time they have sex, and it definitely doesnt mean your not a virgin. most (but not all) girls are born with a hymen, which is a thin membrane covering part of the vaginal entry. the size of it varies - sometimes it can cover the whole opening, or only a timy fraction. it is the breaking of this that causes the bleeding, although if there is only a small hymen , it may not bleed at all. now, while sometimes this gets broken during the first time someone has sex, it more often occurs during childhood, and can happen with vigorous movements, like exercise, sport and horseriding. if you use tampons during your period, the first time you used one may have broken the hymen. so, not bleeding during the first time you have sex DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE NOT A VIRGIN!

Well most girls do yes. Because their hymen is breaking. It's a tissue inside the vagina. My first time though, i didn't bleed. It could have been that my hymen was already broken from regular activity or even tampons. But most times girls do bleed their first time. I heard in some cultures, after the bride and groom were married, after the wedding night the townspeople would run around town showing the bloody sheets, proving that the girl was a virgin! haha

It is not true - I didn't. The hymen can be torn by participating in sports. I was a basketball and soccer player in high school and won awards in broad jumping. I was nearly 18 the first time I had sex and I didn't bleed and figured I had torn it somehow. What upset me was that the guy I was with didn't even believe me to be a virgin, which I was. A virgin is a girl who's never engaged in sexual intercourse.

It is NOT true that all girls bleed the first time. And if you do not bleed and you still have sex...then you are NOT a virgin. blood doesn't have anything to do with being a virgin or not.

I bled the first time and it did hurt a little because my hymen wouldn't break at first. Nothing is absolute in cases like this because we are all different.

The only way you are not a virgin is if you have had sex with someone so don't judge it by whether you bleed the first time or not :)

No.

Virgin means that a girl is penetrated--it's your choice as to whether a girl is a virgin if she gives or recieves oral/anal OR if she's a virgin no matter where a penis (or dildo) has penetrated her.

The hymen doesn't always stay intract through childhood though. A hard fall, riding a bike for extended periods of time, hard exercise, putting a tampon in for the first time, etc all could break your hymen.

So does a girl always bleed? No.
