With his football world crashing around him, Michael Vick apparently did something to take the edge off the stress.

He smoked some weed.
Now, I'm willing to bet more people knew about Vick's alleged marijuana use than his dogfighting escapades while he was playing for the Atlanta Falcons, but that's a story for another time.

In the last few days, the word on the legal front was that Vick might be sentenced to a lot less than 18 months by U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson after his guilty plea for bankrolling a dogfighting operation. Now that he has tested positive for marijuana use — the sample was taken a week after the start of the NFL season — who knows if this could alter Judge Hudson's stance toward Vick?

Granted, drug use is illegal but I doubt that many of Vick's fans believe this latest offense is any big deal. The NFL, however, has higher standards for its employees.

( o _ 0 ) While smoking weed may lift his spirits, it's most definitely not helping his career. Dude what in the Sam hill are you doing to yourself?

I'm glad that it has been ordered for him to receive mental help, as well with substance abuse treatment. The man is stressed, and is trying to self-medicate himself through weed. But I don't understand why he would smoke weed, knowing he had a court appearance. Stress has caught up to him, and he doesn't know how to handle it. It's easy to make a performance when everything is going great. The charges he's facing, are things that he brought on himself. He really took didn't value the opportunity he was given, and threw it down the drain. What a shame!

well...he just sealed any chance of returning to the League. We can be sure that it was Arthur Blanks money that got him off the hook over the Airport incident...as the Police involved are still saying that they smelled pot residue in the bottle. Unfortunately for Vick, while Blank might overlook his QB sparking it up......the Dog Fighting thing just wrecked his gravy train.

Now he has to not only deal with his actions.....but with having now been caught lying to the League, his team, the Media and the Commish several times. Goodell is not going to appreciate this, and even if there had been a slim chance of returning after his prison stint...(if you could find a team willing to deal with the backlash....and I don't think that even Oakland is that desperate)....by lying to the Commish, and getting caught breaking the NFLs drug policy, he has killed his career, officially.

And to all the Vick supporters.....the idiotr has no one to blame but himself. He knowingly broke the multiple laws. You might want to consider him an outlaw hero.....so when the stupidiity of that attitude lands you in prison, you can tell Vick how much you look up to him in person.......he probably likes pillow- talk.

well he thinks that since he is in so much trouble right now, why not make things worse? i know a lot of people say weed isnt a big deal...that its just a plant, that its safer than cigarrettes and alcohol...well they might be true...but its still illegal, and since he is an NFL player, who is put up on the pedistool, he should hold himself to high standards casue he knows he is a hero to kids everywhere...wow... he is such a royal F up

Vick's twisted fan base wouldn't care if he took an uzi and mowed down a bunch of nuns. They would still love him and want him back. Maybe Vick's fans are the ones who belong in prison!

He's just making a bad situation worse.
I don't believe that he'll ever play in the NFL again.

He would have been better off having a few beers if he was stressed out. Better yet go workout.
