I'm 14, 5'9, 120 lbs, really small boobs, and got my period 1 year ago. My problem is, I have tons of 'hair down there' and its growing more & more, so now I have some on my inner thighs, in between my boobs, about 15-20 really small hairs on my boobs, and some on my stomach. I'm really scared! I just read on the internet that thats some characteristics of something called hirsutism or high testosterone. So now I'm really worried. What should I do/ what medicine should I take/ anybody have advice??

It can be normal, or it can be a problem like you looked up...if you're just naturally hairy (like many girls I know) then it could be genetic. To be honest your hair pattern doesn't sound too unusual, in fact most girls are like that, what are the hairs like? Thick or dark then maybe something is wrong, thin, fine or light then it's most likely normal. Genetics is important, are your parents hairy? Siblings, aunts or anything? If so then it's probably normal. You should see your doctor so they can examine you and see about the hair and if necessary start treating you.

This can be normal for some girls and an abnormal amount of hair for others. Best to let the doctor give you a once over and do a couple of blood tests, That way if anything is suspicious the doctor can adjust your hormones with birth control pills or look for for other problems . Have a talk with your mom and she may be able to reassure you that this is normal in your ethnic group or something that you should be concerned about.

usually the darker a person the more hair all over the body. I am sure you do not have hirsutism, but talk to a doctor if you are concerned. some men believe a little extra hair on a woman is a sign of a passionate nature.

Personally, I think you're just going through puberty and you're just not used to seeing all that. Everyone has a lot of hair down there, some have more than others, depending on their ethnicity and genes. You should ask your mom. You don't need to tell her the really personal areas, you can just get an idea about your stomach.

You probably do have high levels of testosterone. This is also a symptom of PCOS but it doesn't seem like you have any other symptoms of it (weird periods, painful periods, or overweight) If it bothers you, see your doctor and find out what they can do after they rule out serious causes.

Before you worry, you should just go to the doctor. It could be temporary just from puberty and might be nothing to worry about at all. So I suggest going to the doctor. Only a doctor can tell you what yahoo answerers can't.

well alot of it has to do with you genes, look at your mother does she has alot of hair (i am not saying to look "down there" i mean like in other places you can see)
If you go to you Dr. they may tell you one of many things
1 hirstutism (as you saw online)
2 a hoamoala imblance of some sort
3 just hiary genes
if its 1 or 2 you dr can get you the proper meds to help you out a bit

it is normal, as long as u have regular periods, don't worry it is just signs of womanhood, besides genes control it some women shoe heaver and darker body hair than the others, women and girls of the Mediterranean sea countries have hereditary traits of heavy body hair and still most of them are the sexiest women

well u just hit puberty so "hair" is normal.
but only like u mentioned, there are some conditions that make women grow more hair than normal.
i would suggest u talk to ur doctor just to make sure. doesn't hurt to ask.
