Can you imagine the likes of many footballers playing the game ? Surely it wouldn't take long for the poor peeps to die a terrible death of over-excursion ... the pangs of only 74 pence per flick would near kill them .. if not that ... the simple fact that diving to get a chance of winning a game is pretty-much exhausted on first cry of angst.

It's hilarious the sarcasm you used in your question LOL. The main reason people cry over football is because they place bets over teams. Anytime a game involves losing money its not just a game anymore. Its something that can alter the course of life. However its their fault they were stupid enough to gamble in the first place. If you gambled all your life savings over a game of tiddly winks and lost, the same exact thing would happen.

I suggest we get together a Tiddly Winks league and while we are at it a Old Maid as well. I have no idea why people have such emotion for a sport or a player...Just humans playing a game...

This question reminds me of ......... If an alien landed how would he perceive a game of football - 22 men running round in circles all chasing a ball. Kicking each other. A guy dressed in black blowing a whistle and just running around for the fun of it. 2 guys besides the field running up and down in a straight line waving flags at each other.

well I think it has to do with all of the butt grabbing that goes on in football..it is just not as prevalent in tiddlywinks... so maybe that is why they feel more personally connected
