Seems it's been nothing but re-wrights. Yes...they have squashed us with the computer....but besides that? What's NEW?

My daughter was so thrilled to go to OZ fest years ago. Ya Ozzie from Black Sabbath...tripped to him way back myself. Still a star today. Metal isn't much more than hard rock was. So many of the NEW stars are just re-doing what was already done.

Where is their "Star Trek"? Now it's "reality TV"

They don't have a "Leave it to Beaver" or "Brady Bunch" or " I dream of Jeannie". No "Bonanza" or "Little House on the Prarie".

No new answer to disease or illness.

It's sad.

The only shows I can watch on TV are anything Law and Order, CSI..reruns and all, Dancing with the Stars, The Closer (my favorite) and Saving Grace. The rest drives me right off to my computer...I spend too much time on the computer at work, and now, at night...I have got to find a life!

I watch the Closer, Saving Grace, TLC and their med shows, Travel Channel has a Jeff
Corwin series now as he tours Alaska that is interesting. CSI is on Spike late at night as well as the X Files, old movies are on TCM. I also like Animal Planet. I have the tv in the back ground all the time, my kind of sound. I also like Dancing with the Stars and I have watched the Batchelor a couple of times and it just started a new series with a young millionaire that has an identical twin, pretty interesting. ha! I guess that maybe you would like Hanna Montana and her escapades. I have watched it once but didn't really care for it. Lots to see and lots to learn just need to seek and find. Just me.

Are you really a "senior"? Don't you recall when your parents/grandparents said the same thing about you? I'm married to a man 16 years older than me. He came from the jazz age. I came from rock & roll, surf and the dirty boogie.
The kids and grandkids are from a different age and they enjoy "their stuff" most of which I think is trash, but dad thought my stuff was trash. I do agree that all the film re-do's are kind of silly. Perhaps it is because these kids were not encouraged to think for themselves. But so far none of them have touched Casablanca or Citizen Cain. Got to love the computer animation. It is great. Remember, their grandkids are going to think they are old fogies in a few years.
By the way, my husband just had cataract surgery and at 85 now sees without glasses. Now that is what I call progress.

I think the tv is fine. The thing that I noticed is all the crappy movies coming out of Hollywood. It'slike none of them can come up with new ideas,or they don't want to spend the money on making a good movie.I meen, for example,"Open Water",lol, anyone with a camera and a boat could have made that, and they bragged it up to be the next "Jaws",what a let down. Then when they do make a good one,"The Hills Have Eyes",they have to mess that up with a sequal that just pain sucked.OK!Now my thought on MTV.I stopped watching it when they took off Headbangers Ball, and I started seeing that Rap crap on every time I turned it on.As for your old shows you mention for tv,do you get the TV Land channel? They show all of those,Leave it toBeaver,Brady Bunch,Gun Smoke.Check it out.

I'm really surprised that the contestants on both American
Idol, and America's Got Talent, that performed the new craze,
Beat Box, haven't been seen since. It is a more fluid form of
rap where the singer also makes background sound effects.
It even surprised me, that I was stopping to listen to it. It's far
more difficult than Rap. And will take alot of practice to learn.
Does anyone else, know what I'm talking about?

PBS has a wonderful new series that started a few days ago. "The War" by Ken Burns. I'm not much of a history buff, but so far I have watched every episode and have learned so much. I would give this program a 15 thumbs up!!!!!!! This is a series that should not be missed!

I have over 400 channels and still I look and look and find very little. Once I've watched NFL football, O'Reilly Factor, Glenn Beck and Dog the Bounty Hunter, I'm stumped! How many more senseless books can one person read? And the commercials...they're so annoying and ridiculous. I feel like senior citizens are left out when it comes to shows we could relate to.

okay, this is totally gonna sound like an advertisement, and sorry -but it's my truth - I have found more interesting, innovative and NEW music since I started listening to yahoo launchcast radio than I had heard in years. I recommend it very highly. you get exposed to SO much that way, and a lot of it isn't commercially viable, but who cares about that?
as for TV, I would have to agree for the most part - what a waste of cable.

Am I the only one that's into LOST.? I think it'll go down in Television History as the best series of all time. It's difficult to get into but if you do you'll be amazed. It borders on genius.

"The War" has been extraordinary. Well worth the watch.

No, I've noticed. I remember the days when I was excited about the Movie of the Week, or seeing my favorite sitcoms. Now I am really desperate. I glad we have AMC, TCM, and PBS. I kinda like Reba too. Dare I say it, perhaps we are ....jaded!!?!!
