God is neither "Man" nor "Woman". God is God.
God's purpose is not to be known by mere mortal humans.
It would be my guess, not assumption, that God wishes to amuse God.
If you think about the passage from Genesis, "In the beginning, there was the word, and the word was with God", you must certainly realize that God was not amused with the state of the universe and God must have most certainly been very bored.
You are asking something deeply philosophical...
I am certain that God became very bored of looking into the deep dark void that was the universe when God created man.
God meant for us to be a creation(child) of God's. We have become an abomination in God's eye's because we ask why God does what God does.
God's self purpose must certainly be to exalt God. Everything God does is self-serving. That isn't a bad thing. Each day God lets me live on and each breath God lets me breathe is a gift that I can never repay.
Think about it this way...
If you had the power and the ability to create a universe where everything and every being succumbed to your will(answered to you), would you not say that it was good?
I hope you aren't in a spiritual battle with evil........
Good luck

There is no answer to that question. God is perfect and in that fact unable to be selfish and pursue his own benefits. He has no purpose for himself other than to have a relationship with you. He wants nothing more in his life than that. He doesn't care if you have sinned, he will forgive. All God wants for himself is a personal relationship with you. If you give that to him I GUARENTEE that you will never have to wonder about this question again. He will provide for you. If you are wondering about the answer to life with this question, there is no answer there either, but a great book to read about it that is not "evangalistic" is called "The Answer" by Randy Pope.
I hope my answer helps you and if you have any more questions I will answer your emails
