Homer: why a legend?

Question

Can anyone give four features of Homer's poetry that cause it to be considered a classic?

Thanks I already went ot wikipedia. They gave me something different though. Oh well.

1. The Hero is a figure of imposing stature.
2. The Setting is vast, covering great nations.
3. The action is of great deeds and superhuman courage.
4. Supernatural forces intercede in the action at their will.
5. A style of elevation and simplicity is maintained throughout the Epic.
6. The Poet recounts the deeds of the heroes with a measure of objectivity.

I couldn't whittle it down to four....I've always taught 6.
