I think in 2^x = 2408 the figures 4 and 0 have wrongly written, they have interchanged their places. It should have been 2048 which is equal to 2^11.
so your equation becomes 2^x = 2^11
and x comes out to be equal to 11.
Otherwise applying logrithm is the easiest way to find the value of x.

okay, if X is in the exponential you need to use log to bring it down.
2^X=2408. Give log on both side
log (2^X)=log(2408). X in on the power, so bring it down to the front
X.log(2)=log(2408) => X=log(2408)/log(2)
Type that in the Calculator, you should get the approximated answer
Now, your question was what fomular we can use. Use this
If we get A^x=B, then X=log(B)/log(A).
I assume that you know logarithms. Otherwise, keep factoring 2408 until you get 2 to the power of something, that "something" is X => basic but no formula for it. sorry

The easiest way to find x is to take logs of both sides. Then we have x Log 2 = Log 2408, and x= log 2408/log 2. This works well because x does not have to be an integer.

you all are confusing, and never give straight answers, rude. If I ask for an answer and go out of MY TIME TO LOOK IT UP ON GOOGLE you better give me an actual, legit answer. End of story
