Lol, calm down. The answerers above are just trying to let you that it's impossible to put lesbians in a box. We look all kinds of ways. The only way to know if your friend is a lesbian is to ask her. Some of the butchest women I know are actually straight. There's no dead giveaway.
Personally, I've noticed that most lesbians (I'd say about 90%) have short fingernails, for obvious reasons. If ever I'm curious about a girl, that's usually the first place I look. Straight girls can have short fingernails too of course.

There is only one sign - you find you are sexually attracted to other women.
There are no outward signs. Lesbians don't grow horns, turn green, or have their fingers drop off.
The lesbian community is as diverse as the straight one; some conform to a specific way of dressing; others are individualistic. Some have life partners, others are loners. Some are doctors, others are nurses...
Lesbians and gay men are all around you. We come in all kinds of packages, and we are in every profession or job. The chances are you know many of us, but we don't walk around with a label on our forehead, so you never know it.

Any woman can be a lesbian whether she's got long hair, short hair, feminine or masculine. There are plenty of short haired women with deeper, raspy voices that are straight. I've got a friend who's 100% lesbian, and is one of the prissiest people I know. People don't believe her when she says she's a lesbian. If you passed her on the street, you would probably assume she's straight.
If your friend wants you to know if she's a lesbian or not, she'd tell you. If she wants you to know, she'll tell you. If not, it's none of your business. Why does it matter anyway?

THE ONLY OUTWARD SIGNS are those SHE CHOOSES To display.
Since everyone is an individual, there are NO hard and fast rules of determining if someone is gay or straight.
There's no set dress code or secret handshake, we aren't all left or right haded, we don't all have long or short hair, we don't have membership cards.
If you know she's attracted to other females that only proves that she's POSSIBLY either Lesbian Or Bisexual.
Unless she tells you which one she is...there's no way to know.
