No isnt there like some special way u do it like u have to add or subtract or multiply or divide im not sure but i remember it some other way you cant just change it like that!!

It should be 7<12
7 is less than 12
you can remember this because an alligator always wants to eat the bigger number. So the open side faces the bigger number (pretend it is the alligator's open mouth.)

It always points to the smaller number. Switch the 12 and the 7.

it should be 7<12

let me give you a really easy way to remember it. the < sign looks like an L if you rotate it, and it means less than.

so 7 is less than 12

If you're talking about 'greater than', a teacher taught us to remember the difference in the signs by picturing the > as an aligator's mouth - it opens its mouth to eat the bigger number.
